Deutschpunk-Band aus Ost-Berlin, 1991 bis 2006.
Von der englischsprachigen Vorgänger-Wave-Band The Stroszeks (1991/92: Christian, voc + g / Alex, bg / Nico, dr) erschien 1998 ein posthumes Live-Album. Alle Strohsäcke Tonträger erschienen auf dem von Sänger Christian betriebenen Label Attack Records. Andere Berliner Bands auf dem Label waren Worhäts (bei denen Christian Gitarre spielte), Sixteen Eyes (mit Peter, einem weiteren Strohsack, an Stimme & Gitarre), die Träsh Torten Combo (die Band von Christians Freundin Anne Waffel!), The Shocks, Daisy Chain, Barbie Bitches und Lokalverbot (alle Berlin), sowie Artgerecht (Göttingen) und Ugly Aesthetics (Bremen).
Christian und Anne zogen nach 2006 um in die Niederlande und betrieben dort die Bands Placebotox und Svarta Lågor. 2018 gastierten sie bei Aufnahmen von Sedum. und Totraffen. 2019 formierten sie in Utrecht ein neues Punk-Trio namens Stachel. Im gleichen Jahr gab es in Deutschland auch Auftritte als "Utrechter Strohsäcke-Cover-Band" Strohsakjes.
Die 2017 veröffentlichte Compilation "Schmutzig, eklig, kalt" enthält unveröffentliches Strohsäcke-Material der Jahre 1992/93 und erschien u.a. auf dem ab 2010 in den Niederlanden wiederbelebten Attack Records Label.
