Garage-Punkband aus Dresden, gegründet 1999.
Franny und Wild Bite spielten vorher bereits zusammen in der All-Girl-Band Petticoat Government, Butter(fly) und Andi gründeten 2000 parallel die Creeks, auf die sich Andi ab 2001 vollständig konzentrierte, seitdem traten die Venusshells als Trio auf. 2012 begann eine selbst verordnete Bandruhe.
Von 2011 bis 2013 spielte Fran Patzig in Heiko Schramms kurzlebiger Formation Blenderman.
